Skin overview

The Bowie Knife's blotchy grey-blue patina is the core of this skin, framed by a dark grip and steel guard. Well-Worn copies show clear scratches across the blade, with the stains thinning toward the tip and the cutting edge. Up close it looks rough, but the overall cold, mottled look survives.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Well-Worn

The blade is covered in a forced patina: irregular pale blue and white blotches with darker grey patches over a steel base. The pattern runs from the clip point back past the sawback teeth to the guard, and the placement of the stains differs from copy to copy.

Scratches spread from the edge and the sawback onto the flat of the blade. The stains grow paler toward the tip, and bare steel shows through in patches. In game the blade reads lighter and rougher than cleaner grades. The patina near the guard is the most intact part left.

Well-Worn quality — float range 0.38–0.45

The whole float range of ★ StatTrak™ Bowie Knife | Stained is 0–1; Well-Worn takes the 0.38–0.45 segment (7% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

It is the rare special item of Operation Wildfire Case — knives and gloves drop far less often than the regular contents.

What it costs in each quality

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the top of a grade look noticeably cleaner.
  • Compare stain placement between copies, because the patina pattern differs on each blade.
  • Inspect the cutting edge, tip and sawback teeth, as these lose the patina first.
  • Look for a name tag and decide whether it suits you, since knives cannot carry stickers.

Who the Well-Worn quality suits

  • Budget-minded players who mainly want the Bowie Knife model.
  • Fans of rough, weathered finishes.
  • A reasonable entry if visible scratches do not bother you.
