Skin overview

Battle-Scarred is the roughest take on this patina: the blue and gold blotches survive only in patches between heavy scratches and dull steel. What remains is a dark, used-tool look on the curved blade, contrasting with the light ivory grip. It is the most affordable way to carry this knife model with this finish.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The curved blade carries the case-hardened patina: blue, violet and orange patches gather toward the tip and along the spine, shifting into pale gold and olive steel near the base. The spine has saw-tooth ridges and three round cut-outs, which take the same mottled colouring.

Heavy scratches cover most of the blade, and large areas along the edge, tip and spine are dull steel. The blue and gold remain only as scattered patches, and the ring has lost much of its tint. In game the knife looks dark and worn, with the pattern barely readable. The ivory handle stays the brightest part of the knife.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–1

The float of ★ StatTrak™ Talon Knife | Case Hardened ranges from 0 to 1; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–1 — 55% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

What to check before buying

  • Look at the pattern on both sides of the blade, because the amount of blue and gold differs between copies.
  • Check where the float sits within the wear grade, as copies at the cleaner end keep more colour on the tip and spine.
  • Inspect the cutting edge, spine teeth and finger ring, since these lose the patina first.
  • Note whether the knife is StatTrak™ and whether it carries a name tag.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

  • Players looking for the lowest entry into the Talon Knife | Case Hardened.
  • Fans of a rough, heavily used look on a knife.
  • Conclusion: the budget grade for those who value the model over the colours.
