★ Talon Knife | Stained pairs a karambit shape with a deliberately aged blade, and Field-Tested suits that idea well. The grey and blue stains are still the main feature, while light scratches along the edge add to the worn-metal character. The ivory handle with brass rivets keeps the knife readable and clean in the hand.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
How the skin looks in Field-Tested
The blade is covered in a forced patina: cloudy grey, bluish and smoky stains spread over polished steel, with the heaviest blotches along the middle of the curve. The spine carries saw-tooth ridges and three round holes, and the edge and tip stay lighter than the body of the blade.
Light scratches run along the edge and the tip, and the teeth of the spine start to lose their stain. The flat of the blade still carries most of the pattern. The handle may show slight scuffs at its edges but stays light. In game the wear reads as part of the aged finish rather than damage.
Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38
The whole float range of ★ Talon Knife | Stained is 0–1; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (23% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

What to look at before you buy
- Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since scratches on the edge and tip grow quickly toward the dirtier end.
- Look at the stain layout in inspect, as the placement and darkness of the patina differ between copies.
- Inspect the saw-tooth spine and the tip, which lose their patina first.
- Note whether a name tag is applied and whether a StatTrak™ counter matters to you.
Who the Field-Tested quality suits
- Players who want a Talon for everyday play and like an aged look.
- Buyers who see light wear as part of the patina's character.
