Souvenir AK-47 | Red Laminate (Battle-Scarred)

Skin overview

Red Laminate is a red-and-black laminate pattern on the wooden parts of an otherwise dark AK-47. In Battle-Scarred the furniture carries heavy scratches and worn patches, especially on the stock and handguard edges, giving a rough, field-worn look. Because the float range stops short of the dirtiest values, the red laminate never disappears completely.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Classified is the second-rarest weapon tier, only Covert sits above it.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, barrel, gas tube, front sight and the curved magazine keep a plain dark gunmetal finish with no pattern. All the colour sits on the furniture: the upper and lower handguard, the pistol grip and the stock are covered in bright red laminate with black concentric rings and wavy lines, like layers of cut plywood.

Battle-Scarred copies carry heavy scratching across the whole handguard and grip, with wide worn areas on the stock edges and butt. The black ring pattern is broken up in many places, but the red base still covers much of the wood. In game the rifle looks rough and heavily used, while the red remains the main colour. The receiver and magazine show the most scratches of any grade.

Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.8

The whole float range of Souvenir AK-47 | Red Laminate is 0.06–0.8; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.8 segment (47% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir AK-47 | Red Laminate belongs to The eSports 2013 Collection, which holds 9 skins.

The source is eSports 2013 Case (on sale since Jul 9, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Red, black and gold stickers match the laminate and the dark metal without breaking the two-tone look. Placing them on the receiver works best, since the plain gunmetal gives a calm background and leaves the red wood pattern uncovered.

What to check before buying

• Check the float within the wear grade, since wear on the handguard edges and stock corners grows noticeably towards the top of each range.
• Inspect the handguard closely, as it is the part most visible in the first-person view and the first to show scuffs.
• Look at applied stickers and any name tag, and decide whether they fit your plans for the rifle.
• Confirm whether you want a regular, StatTrak™ or Souvenir version, since all three exist for this skin.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

• Budget entry players who want this skin in their inventory.
• Fans of rough, heavily scratched finishes.
• The cheapest way to carry Red Laminate while keeping its red colour.
