Souvenir AK-47 | Red Laminate (Field-Tested)

Skin overview

Red Laminate is defined by its two-tone split: plain dark metal against glossy red wood with black concentric rings. In Field-Tested the furniture starts to show scuffs along the edges of the stock and handguard, while the overall red-and-black impression stays strong from normal view. It is the balanced middle choice for players who want the colour more than a pristine surface.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Classified is the second-rarest weapon tier, only Covert sits above it.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The receiver, barrel, gas tube, front sight and the curved magazine keep a plain dark gunmetal finish with no pattern. All the colour sits on the furniture: the upper and lower handguard, the pistol grip and the stock are covered in bright red laminate with black concentric rings and wavy lines, like layers of cut plywood.

Field-Tested copies show noticeable scuffs along the stock edges, the butt end and the rims of the handguard, with some wear on the pistol grip. The flat sides of the stock still carry most of the ring pattern. In game the red reads clearly, and the wear is visible mainly on the handguard closest to the camera. The dark metal parts may show light scratches but stay largely uniform.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir AK-47 | Red Laminate is 0.06–0.8; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (31% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The eSports 2013 Collection with 9 skins in total.

The source is eSports 2013 Case (on sale since Jul 9, 2014).

What it costs in each quality

Among 14 skins of the AK-47 in the Classified grade and this quality, this skin ranks 3rd by price, counting from the dearest.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Red, black and gold stickers match the laminate and the dark metal without breaking the two-tone look. Placing them on the receiver works best, since the plain gunmetal gives a calm background and leaves the red wood pattern uncovered.

What to check before buying

• Check the float within the wear grade, since wear on the handguard edges and stock corners grows noticeably towards the top of each range.
• Inspect the handguard closely, as it is the part most visible in the first-person view and the first to show scuffs.
• Look at applied stickers and any name tag, and decide whether they fit your plans for the rifle.
• Confirm whether you want a regular, StatTrak™ or Souvenir version, since all three exist for this skin.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

• Players who care about the bright red colour more than a perfect surface.
• Buyers looking for a balance between look and cost.
• The practical everyday choice for this skin.
