Souvenir AUG | Chameleon (Battle-Scarred)

Skin overview

Because the float range of this skin is capped well below the maximum, Battle-Scarred AUG | Chameleon is less damaged than a fully stripped finish. The chameleon is scratched and patchy, yet its shape and its green-and-orange colouring are still recognisable on the stock. It is the most affordable way to carry this artwork.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, barrel, scope and carrying rail are finished in dark graphite and black, giving the rifle a plain, almost stock look from the front. The artwork is concentrated on the rear of the stock: a bright green chameleon with orange and red spots, its tail curling down towards the butt, surrounded by green leaves.

The chameleon is patchy and heavily scratched, and the stock edges and butt are noticeably worn. Because the range is capped, the artwork does not disappear entirely, and the lizard's silhouette and colours remain readable. In game the rifle looks battle-used, with wear also visible on the receiver, though the dark paint keeps it from looking bare.

Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.5

The whole float range of Souvenir AUG | Chameleon is 0–0.5; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.5 segment (10% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

It drops from Operation Phoenix Weapon Case (on sale since Feb 19, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Green, orange and red stickers echo the chameleon's colours, while dark or holographic stickers blend with the graphite body. Placing them on the receiver keeps the artwork on the stock visible.

• Look at the float position within the wear range, since the chameleon on the stock is where the difference between copies is most visible.
• Inspect the edges and bottom of the stock first, as that is where wear starts and spreads into the artwork.
• Check whether stickers sit near the chameleon or cover part of the stock artwork.
• Note any name tag and whether the copy is StatTrak™ or Souvenir, since both variants exist for this skin.
