Skin overview

AUG | Chameleon is a Covert rifle finish with a dark graphite body and a bright green chameleon with orange spots painted on the rear of the stock. In Factory New the chameleon keeps every scale, spot and leaf sharp, and the green stands out cleanly against the dark paint. This is the version for buyers who want the artwork exactly as it was drawn.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Factory New

The receiver, barrel, scope and carrying rail are finished in dark graphite and black, giving the rifle a plain, almost stock look from the front. The artwork is concentrated on the rear of the stock: a bright green chameleon with orange and red spots, its tail curling down towards the butt, surrounded by green leaves.

The chameleon, leaves and red line are fully intact, with crisp edges and saturated colour. The dark body has an even finish without scratches. In game the green lizard reads clearly on the stock even at a glance, and every part of the rifle looks clean.

Factory New wear: float 0–0.07

The whole float range of Souvenir AUG | Chameleon is 0–0.5; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (14% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Phoenix Collection with 13 skins in total.

It drops from Operation Phoenix Weapon Case (on sale since Feb 19, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Green, orange and red stickers echo the chameleon's colours, while dark or holographic stickers blend with the graphite body. Placing them on the receiver keeps the artwork on the stock visible.

• Look at the float position within the wear range, since the chameleon on the stock is where the difference between copies is most visible.
• Inspect the edges and bottom of the stock first, as that is where wear starts and spreads into the artwork.
