Skin overview

Blue Ply is a layered blue-and-black finish on the Desert Eagle with an ash-coloured grip, built around wavy contour lines that cover the whole gun. In Field-Tested the pattern is still fully readable, but worn spots begin to show along the edges of the slide and the muzzle, adding a used, handled character to the laminate.

Item type: pistol. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The slide is covered in tight, wavy contour layers of bright blue alternating with black and dark grey, resembling the end grain of laminated wood. The frame and trigger guard continue the same pattern in darker blue-grey tones, while the hammer area and rear of the slide carry lighter grey layers.

Wear is visible on the muzzle, the top edge of the slide and the corners of the frame, where metal starts to show through. The grip edges may lose some of the pale paint. The sides of the slide still carry the full blue pattern. In game the layered look holds up, with light scuffing visible on the front of the gun.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir Desert Eagle | Blue Ply is 0–1; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (23% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Prisma 2 Collection with 17 skins in total.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Blue, white, silver and holographic stickers sit well on the blue laminate of the slide. Muted grey or monochrome stickers keep the calm, material look, while bright warm colours will clash with the busy pattern.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the lower end of a grade look noticeably cleaner.
  • Look at the muzzle and the top edge of the slide on the screenshot, as these parts lose paint first.
  • Check the grip edges, because wear on the pale ash colour is easier to notice than on the busy blue slide.
  • See whether stickers or a name tag are applied and whether they fit the blue-and-ash colour scheme.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who want the full blue laminate pattern for everyday matches.
  • Buyers who accept light scuffs on the muzzle and slide edges.
  • A practical middle option for regular play.
