Show allAllSkin overview
M249 | System Lock in Battle-Scarred keeps its red-and-graphite layout, but the paint is heavily chipped across the most exposed parts. The red box magazine and stock show large patches of bare dark metal, which gives the gun a rough, worn-down character. It suits buyers who want the design with a battered look rather than a clean one.
Item type: machinegun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.
Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.
The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
Appearance in Battle-Scarred
The upper receiver and feed cover are painted dark graphite with thin light-grey panel lines, and the barrel with its handguard area stays black. The lower receiver, the side panels and the handguard sides are covered in bright red, separated from the dark upper part by sharp angular borders.
Large areas of red are worn away on the box magazine, the stock and the handguard, exposing a lot of dark metal. The edges of every red panel are heavily chipped, and the graphite upper part looks scratched and dull. In game the scheme still reads as red and black, but with a clearly battered surface.
Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.8
The float of Souvenir M249 | System Lock ranges from 0 to 0.8; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.8 — 44% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.
Where the skin comes from: collection and case
The skin’s collection is The Chroma Collection with 14 skins in total.
It drops from Chroma Case (on sale since Jan 8, 2015).
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Which stickers suit it
Red, black, white and silver stickers fit the scheme best and keep the sci-fi look intact. The dark graphite upper receiver is a good place for bright red or white stickers, which stand out there without clashing with the red lower half.
What to check before buying
- Look at where the float sits within the wear grade, since a low-float copy shows less chipping on the box magazine.
- Inspect the corners of the red box magazine and the rear of the stock, as these parts lose paint first.
- Check applied stickers and any name tag, because they change how the clean red-and-black design reads.
- Decide whether you want the StatTrak™ version, which is available for this skin.
Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits
- Budget entry for those who just want System Lock in their inventory.
- Players who prefer a heavily battered look over a clean finish.
- Conclusion: the roughest version of the design, for those who like wear.
