Show allAllSkin overview
This is the red-and-graphite M249 with a large red box magazine as its most visible element. At Minimal Wear the finish still looks fresh, and any marks are tiny points on edges that are hard to spot without close inspection. It gives almost the same look as the cleanest grade at a lower step of the ladder.
Item type: machinegun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.
Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
Appearance in Minimal Wear
The upper receiver and feed cover are painted dark graphite with thin light-grey panel lines, and the barrel with its handguard area stays black. The lower receiver, the side panels and the handguard sides are covered in bright red, separated from the dark upper part by sharp angular borders.
Only tiny marks can appear on the sharpest corners of the box magazine and the stock. The large red surfaces and the dark receiver look untouched. At normal distance in game it is practically indistinguishable from Factory New.
Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15
The whole float range of Souvenir M249 | System Lock is 0–0.8; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (10% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin
The skin’s collection is The Chroma Collection with 14 skins in total.
The source is Chroma Case (on sale since Jan 8, 2015).
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Stickers and crafts
Red, black, white and silver stickers fit the scheme best and keep the sci-fi look intact. The dark graphite upper receiver is a good place for bright red or white stickers, which stand out there without clashing with the red lower half.
What to look at before you buy
- Look at where the float sits within the wear grade, since a low-float copy shows less chipping on the box magazine.
- Inspect the corners of the red box magazine and the rear of the stock, as these parts lose paint first.
- Check applied stickers and any name tag, because they change how the clean red-and-black design reads.
- Decide whether you want the StatTrak™ version, which is available for this skin.
Who should buy Minimal Wear
- Players who want a near-factory look and are willing to give up the top grade to save money.
- Sticker crafters, since the red surfaces stay almost clean.
- Conclusion: practically the Factory New look at a more sensible level.
