Skin overview

This MP7 is built on a simple idea: a glossy black body with grey brushed metal on the grip, magazine and stock. Minimal Wear keeps that look almost intact, with only faint marks on the sharpest edges that are hard to spot in a match. It costs less than Factory New while keeping nearly the same appearance.

Item type: smg. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Minimal Wear

The receiver and upper body are covered in glossy black paint with a slight blue-grey sheen, and the side panels carry an engraved line inlay. The front grip, magazine, rear stock and the muzzle end of the receiver are finished in brushed grey stainless steel, which gives the gun its two-tone look.

Small light specks may appear on the sharpest edges of the receiver and the top rail. The steel parts stay evenly brushed, with at most a few fine scratches. At normal viewing distance the gun looks practically the same as Factory New. The side inlay and the gloss of the black paint remain intact.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of Souvenir MP7 | Armor Core is 0–0.5; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (16% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir MP7 | Armor Core belongs to The Chroma 2 Collection, which holds 15 skins.

It drops from Chroma 2 Case (on sale since Apr 15, 2015).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Black, silver, chrome and grey stickers keep the restrained two-tone look of the skin. A single bright accent in red or gold placed on the dark receiver stands out well against the black paint.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at the float position within the wear range, since the edges of the receiver and top rail show the difference first.
  • Check the brushed steel on the magazine and stock for scratches, as these large light parts make wear easy to notice.
  • The finish has no pattern variation that matters, so focus on float, stickers and name tag.
  • Make sure any applied stickers suit the dark body and do not clash with the steel accents.

Who the Minimal Wear quality suits

  • Players who want an almost new look while spending less than on Factory New.
  • Sticker crafts where tiny edge marks do not matter.
  • Conclusion: a sensible balance of appearance and cost.
