Skin overview

Battle-Scarred is the roughest version of Buff Blue, with dark base material showing through the blue on edges, ribs and the magazine. Because the finish was designed as worn spray paint, the heavy damage looks deliberate rather than accidental. The blue still dominates the silhouette in game.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, including the top rail and the side panels, is painted in a deep cobalt blue with a faintly mottled, streaky spray texture. The vertical foregrip, pistol grip and long magazine carry the same blue, so the gun reads as one colour from muzzle to grip.

Large areas of dark base show through on the receiver edges, rail, grips and magazine, and the remaining blue is heavily scratched. The foregrip and pistol grip ribs are worn down the most. In game the gun looks rough and battered, though blue remains the main colour. Only the middle of the larger flat surfaces keeps a more solid coat.

Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.7

The whole float range of Souvenir MP9 | Buff Blue is 0–0.7; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.7 segment (36% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Ascent Collection with 28 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

What it costs in each quality

By price this skin is 3rd of 8 skins Consumer Grade MP9 in this quality (the first being the dearest).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

The plain blue body works well with white, silver or gold stickers that stand out against it, or with other blue shades for a tonal look. The flat side of the receiver above the grip is the most visible spot for a single larger sticker.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the top of a grade look noticeably cleaner on the edges.
  • Inspect the top rail, the muzzle end and the bottom of the magazine, as these lose paint first.
  • Do not mistake the built-in mottled spray texture for wear when comparing clean copies.
  • Look at any applied stickers or name tag, since they change the look of a single-colour finish more than a busy one.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

  • Fans of heavily worn finishes, where the damage matches the spray-paint idea.
  • Buyers who want the cheapest entry into this skin.
  • Conclusion: the roughest look, chosen on purpose rather than as a compromise.
