Show allAllSkin overview
Buff Blue turns the MP9 into a single blue block, and at Field-Tested the paint starts to show how it is meant to age. Light scuffs appear on the edges of the receiver and the magazine, which fits the worn spray-paint idea of the finish. From a normal distance the gun still reads as strongly blue.
Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.
Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.
The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.
Appearance in Field-Tested
The receiver, including the top rail and the side panels, is painted in a deep cobalt blue with a faintly mottled, streaky spray texture. The vertical foregrip, pistol grip and long magazine carry the same blue, so the gun reads as one colour from muzzle to grip.
Scuffs become visible along the top edge of the receiver, the rail and the front of the gun, and the bottom edge of the magazine starts to wear. The grip ribs may show light lighter spots where the paint thins. At normal distance the MP9 still reads as solid blue with a slightly used surface. The side panels and the flat parts of the grips keep most of their colour.
Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38
The whole float range of Souvenir MP9 | Buff Blue is 0–0.7; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (33% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.
Origin of the skin
Souvenir MP9 | Buff Blue belongs to The Ascent Collection, which holds 28 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.
What it costs in each quality
By price this skin is 8th of 11 skins Consumer Grade MP9 in this quality (the first being the dearest).
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Which stickers suit it
The plain blue body works well with white, silver or gold stickers that stand out against it, or with other blue shades for a tonal look. The flat side of the receiver above the grip is the most visible spot for a single larger sticker.
What to check before buying
- Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the top of a grade look noticeably cleaner on the edges.
- Inspect the top rail, the muzzle end and the bottom of the magazine, as these lose paint first.
- Do not mistake the built-in mottled spray texture for wear when comparing clean copies.
- Look at any applied stickers or name tag, since they change the look of a single-colour finish more than a busy one.
Who should buy Field-Tested
- Players on the CT side who want a strong blue colour for everyday matches.
- Budget-minded buyers who accept light scuffs on the edges.
- Conclusion: a sensible balance between look and grade.
