Skin overview

This MP9 is recognisable by one thing: a solid royal blue coat over the receiver, grips and magazine. At Minimal Wear the colour looks practically the same as on a fresh copy, and any small marks hide inside the streaky texture of the paint. The buyer gets the same clean blue look at a grade a step below the top.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The receiver, including the top rail and the side panels, is painted in a deep cobalt blue with a faintly mottled, streaky spray texture. The vertical foregrip, pistol grip and long magazine carry the same blue, so the gun reads as one colour from muzzle to grip.

Tiny marks may appear on the very edge of the top rail and around the muzzle end of the receiver. They are small and blend into the streaky texture, so they are hard to spot outside inspection. In game it is practically indistinguishable from Factory New. The grips, magazine and side panels stay clean.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of Souvenir MP9 | Buff Blue is 0–0.7; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (11% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir MP9 | Buff Blue belongs to The Ascent Collection, which holds 28 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

What it costs in each quality

Among 9 skins of the MP9 in the Consumer Grade grade and this quality, this skin ranks 3rd by price, counting from the dearest.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

The plain blue body works well with white, silver or gold stickers that stand out against it, or with other blue shades for a tonal look. The flat side of the receiver above the grip is the most visible spot for a single larger sticker.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the top of a grade look noticeably cleaner on the edges.
  • Inspect the top rail, the muzzle end and the bottom of the magazine, as these lose paint first.
  • Do not mistake the built-in mottled spray texture for wear when comparing clean copies.
  • Look at any applied stickers or name tag, since they change the look of a single-colour finish more than a busy one.

Who the Minimal Wear quality suits

  • Players who want a clean-looking blue MP9 and do not need a perfect float.
  • Sticker crafters, since tiny edge marks are hidden by the paint texture.
  • Conclusion: nearly the Factory New look one step lower.
