Skin overview

Nova | Rust Coat is a patina finish that dresses the shotgun in dark gunmetal with a faint reddish-brown tint and a grey-teal ribbed pump. In Factory New the surfaces stay at their darkest and most even, with the rust only hinted at in the tone of the metal. This is the cleanest version of a skin built around corrosion.

Item type: shotgun. Industrial Grade is the second tier from the bottom: common skins from drops and collections.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

Other qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Factory New

The barrel and receiver are finished in dark gunmetal close to black, with a subtle reddish-brown patina showing through the surface. The pump forend stands out in a muted grey-teal with deep horizontal ribs, and the area around the muzzle cap carries a lighter metal edge.

The dark gunmetal base is even across the barrel, receiver and stock, with the reddish-brown patina kept as a soft tint. The forend ribs and grip ridges keep sharp, clean edges. In game the shotgun reads as a dark, almost plain Nova with a warm undertone. Nothing looks visibly rusted through.

Factory New quality — float range 0–0.07

The whole float range of Souvenir Nova | Rust Coat is 0–0.8; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (9% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Havoc Collection with 19 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Warm copper, brown, orange and gold stickers blend with the rust tones, while matte black or dark metallic ones suit the cleaner wears. Placements on the receiver side work best, as the ribbed forend breaks up sticker artwork.

What to look at before you buy

  • Decide how much rust you want, since on this skin the amount of corrosion grows with the float rather than just adding scratches.
  • Within one wear, compare the float position, because a low-float copy looks darker and a high-float copy rustier than the grade name suggests.
  • Look at the forend ribs and receiver edges in the inspect view, as they show rust first.
  • Check applied stickers and name tags, since they stay on the item.

Who should buy Factory New

  • Players who want a dark, understated Nova with only a hint of rust.
  • Collectors who prefer the cleanest version of each finish.
  • Conclusion: the pick for a neat, dark look.
