Show allAllSkin overview
Highwayman is a shotgun skin whose identity rests on a gold-on-black thistle receiver and plain warm wood. In Battle-Scarred the engraving is heavily faded and the lacquer is worn through in many places, so the receiver reads as dark, weathered metal with traces of gold. It is the cheapest way to own the skin, and the worn look still fits the old-gun theme.
Item type: shotgun. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred
The receiver carries the main artwork: black lacquer covered with gold scotch thistle engraving, with gold trim along its edges and a gold-toned trigger guard. The barrel and magazine tube stay a dark gunmetal grey, which keeps attention on the receiver.
Most of the gold is gone from the edges, trim and trigger guard, and the engraving survives only as faint traces. The black lacquer is worn through over large areas of the receiver, leaving a weathered, mottled surface. In game the receiver reads as dark old metal with occasional gold glints. Copies near the cleaner end of this grade still keep noticeably more of the thistle motif.
Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–1
The whole float range of Souvenir Sawed-Off | Highwayman is 0–1; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–1 segment (55% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.
Origin of the skin
The skin’s collection is The Vanguard Collection with 14 skins in total.
The source is Operation Vanguard Weapon Case (on sale since Nov 5, 2014).
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Which stickers suit it
Gold, holo-gold and black stickers match the receiver and keep the classic look intact. Warm brown or muted red designs placed on the wooden pump or near the stock blend with the wood, while bright neon colours tend to clash with the restrained black and gold.
What to check before buying
- Check where the float sits within the grade, since the gold on the receiver edges fades gradually and a low float within a grade keeps visibly more of it.
- Look at the receiver edges and trigger guard in the inspect view, as these are the first parts to lose their gold.
- On worn copies, check how much of the thistle engraving remains on the receiver panel.
- Note any stickers or name tag already applied and decide whether they suit the black and gold scheme.
Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits
- Players looking for the cheapest entry to the skin.
- Those who enjoy a heavily weathered old-gun look.
- In short: a budget pick that keeps the theme, not the shine.
