Skin overview

This Sawed-Off finish is defined by its black lacquer, gold thistle engraving and wooden pump and stock. Well-Worn copies show the patina clearly: the gold is rubbed off in patches on the receiver and the black surface looks dull and uneven. Some buyers pick this grade precisely for that aged, heirloom look.

Item type: shotgun. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Well-Worn

The receiver carries the main artwork: black lacquer covered with gold scotch thistle engraving, with gold trim along its edges and a gold-toned trigger guard. The barrel and magazine tube stay a dark gunmetal grey, which keeps attention on the receiver.

The gold trim is largely rubbed away at the edges and the trigger guard looks dull. Patches of the black lacquer have faded across the receiver sides, and parts of the thistle engraving lose definition. In game the receiver looks aged and uneven rather than polished. Only the inner areas of the panel keep a clear section of the pattern.

Well-Worn wear: float 0.38–0.45

The whole float range of Souvenir Sawed-Off | Highwayman is 0–1; Well-Worn takes the 0.38–0.45 segment (7% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Vanguard Collection with 14 skins in total.

It drops from Operation Vanguard Weapon Case (on sale since Nov 5, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Gold, holo-gold and black stickers match the receiver and keep the classic look intact. Warm brown or muted red designs placed on the wooden pump or near the stock blend with the wood, while bright neon colours tend to clash with the restrained black and gold.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the grade, since the gold on the receiver edges fades gradually and a low float within a grade keeps visibly more of it.
  • Look at the receiver edges and trigger guard in the inspect view, as these are the first parts to lose their gold.
  • On worn copies, check how much of the thistle engraving remains on the receiver panel.
  • Note any stickers or name tag already applied and decide whether they suit the black and gold scheme.

Who should buy Well-Worn

  • Fans of an aged, heirloom-style weapon with visible patina.
  • Budget buyers who still want some of the gold detail.
  • In short: a characterful worn look for a modest outlay.
