Skin overview

Colony IV turns the SG 553 into a busy, warm-toned piece built around a red ant skeleton and rows of gas masks. At Minimal Wear the composition reads the same as a pristine copy, with only faint marks on edges that are hard to spot outside close inspection. It is the grade that keeps the full look of the artwork at a lower step than Factory New.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Classified is the second-rarest weapon tier, only Covert sits above it.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Minimal Wear

The receiver carries the main artwork: a red skeletal ant painted over a yellow-orange background with dark linework. The handguard combines dark teal panels with diagonal black and yellow hazard stripes, while the barrel and muzzle stay mostly grey metal with yellow accents.

Light marks may appear on the muzzle tip and the sharpest edges of the handguard. The receiver artwork, magazine and grip remain clean. At normal distance in game the skin looks the same as Factory New. Only close inspection reveals the small scuffs.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of Souvenir SG 553 | Colony IV is 0–1; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (8% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Shattered Web Collection with 17 skins in total.

It drops from Shattered Web Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Red, black and yellow stickers blend with the ant and hazard-stripe palette, while teal or dark green pieces echo the handguard panels. Placements on the handguard or near the stock keep the receiver artwork uncovered.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end of a grade keep more of the handguard and magazine paint.
  • Look at the receiver closely on worn copies, because the red ant is the focal point of the skin.
  • Inspect the muzzle, handguard edges and stock end, as these parts lose paint first.
  • Check applied stickers and any name tag, as they change how the busy artwork reads.

Who the Minimal Wear quality suits

  • Players who want the skin to look new in game without paying for the top grade.
  • Crafters for whom tiny edge marks do not matter.
  • Conclusion: near-pristine appearance at a sensible step down.
