Skin overview

Battle-Scarred is the cheapest way to carry Danger Close, and it shows heavy chipping across the whole rifle. Large areas of orange are worn away, leaving the colour mostly as patches over bare metal. The fire gradient becomes a rough, burnt-out impression rather than a clean scheme.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The handguard and front of the receiver are painted burnt orange with darker vertical streaks that suggest heat and flame. Towards the rear the receiver shifts into red-brown and then deep charcoal, giving a metallic fire gradient along the rifle.

Large portions of paint are gone across the handguard, receiver and stock. The orange survives mostly as fragments over bare metal, and the gradient loses its clean shape. In game the rifle reads as a dull, burnt finish with only hints of the original colour. No part of the rifle looks fresh.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.8

The whole float range of Souvenir SG 553 | Danger Close is 0.02–0.8; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.8 segment (45% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir SG 553 | Danger Close belongs to The Danger Zone Collection, which holds 17 skins.

It drops from Danger Zone Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Warm stickers in orange, red, gold or black match the fire theme and blend into the handguard. Placing them on the darker rear of the receiver adds contrast, while bright cold colours such as blue or green will clash with the orange.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within its wear range, since copies near the cleaner end keep more of the orange handguard.
  • Look at the handguard edges and rails first, as chipping appears there before anywhere else.
  • Review applied stickers and any name tag, because they change how the orange receiver reads.
  • Decide whether you want StatTrak™ or a Souvenir copy, as both exist for this skin.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • Budget players looking for the cheapest entry to this skin.
  • Those who want a burnt-out, heavily used appearance.
  • Conclusion: an inexpensive way to own Danger Close, with the look heavily changed.
