Skin overview

Field-Tested is where Danger Close starts to look used: the paint begins to chip along the handguard edges and the raised rail sections. The warm orange front and the dark rear are still clearly separated, so the fire theme stays readable. For many players this is the practical middle ground between look and cost.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The handguard and front of the receiver are painted burnt orange with darker vertical streaks that suggest heat and flame. Towards the rear the receiver shifts into red-brown and then deep charcoal, giving a metallic fire gradient along the rifle.

Chipping becomes visible along the handguard edges, the rails and the protruding parts of the receiver. The orange starts to show light scuffs on its flat surfaces, though the colour still dominates. In game the fire theme reads clearly, with the wear noticeable mostly in close view. The darker rear parts hide wear better than the orange front.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The float of Souvenir SG 553 | Danger Close ranges from 0.02 to 0.8; the Field-Tested quality covers 0.15–0.38 — 29% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

Souvenir SG 553 | Danger Close belongs to The Danger Zone Collection, which holds 17 skins.

It drops from Danger Zone Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Warm stickers in orange, red, gold or black match the fire theme and blend into the handguard. Placing them on the darker rear of the receiver adds contrast, while bright cold colours such as blue or green will clash with the orange.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within its wear range, since copies near the cleaner end keep more of the orange handguard.
  • Look at the handguard edges and rails first, as chipping appears there before anywhere else.
  • Review applied stickers and any name tag, because they change how the orange receiver reads.
  • Decide whether you want StatTrak™ or a Souvenir copy, as both exist for this skin.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Players who want a readable fire theme at a moderate cost.
  • Those who do not mind visible edge chipping on the handguard.
  • Conclusion: a balanced pick for everyday use.
