Skin overview

In Battle-Scarred the blue camo of the SG 553 is heavily stripped, leaving large dark metal areas between the remaining patches. The pattern survives mostly on flat surfaces, while edges and raised parts look worn down to the base. It is the most rugged way to own Night Camo and the most affordable entry to the skin.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, handguard and magazine are covered with irregular patches of pale blue, slate grey and dark navy applied as a hydrographic camo. The same pattern continues over the pistol grip, the stock and the body of the scope, so the rifle looks uniformly wrapped.

Large areas of the magazine, stock, scope and handguard are worn down to dark metal. The camo remains only in scattered fragments, mostly on the receiver sides. In game the rifle reads as a dark, battered weapon with traces of blue. The grip and receiver centre keep the most paint, though they are scratched too.

The skin’s collection is The Ascent Collection with 28 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers in blue, white, silver or black match the cool tones of the camo without breaking it up. A single accent in a contrasting warm colour can work on the receiver side, where the pattern is most uniform.

What to look at before you buy

• Look at the float position within the wear range, since copies near the top of a grade look noticeably cleaner on the magazine and stock.
• Inspect the rail ridges, scope and magazine edges, as these parts lose paint first.
• Check whether the copy is Souvenir, because its pre-applied stickers change the overall look.
• Check for applied stickers or a name tag that you may not want on a plain camo rifle.
