Skin overview

Night Camo covers the SG 553 in blotches of muted blue and grey that look like a night version of standard woodland camo. At Minimal Wear the finish is practically indistinguishable from a clean copy in game, with only faint marks visible on close inspection. This grade gives the same tidy blue look at a step below the cleanest condition.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The receiver, handguard and magazine are covered with irregular patches of pale blue, slate grey and dark navy applied as a hydrographic camo. The same pattern continues over the pistol grip, the stock and the body of the scope, so the rifle looks uniformly wrapped.

Small specks may appear on the rail ridges and the edges of the magazine. The patches on the receiver and stock remain fully clean. At normal distance the rifle looks the same as Factory New. The difference only shows when inspecting the model closely.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of Souvenir SG 553 | Night Camo is 0–0.795; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (10% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Souvenir SG 553 | Night Camo belongs to The Ascent Collection, which holds 28 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers in blue, white, silver or black match the cool tones of the camo without breaking it up. A single accent in a contrasting warm colour can work on the receiver side, where the pattern is most uniform.

What to look at before you buy

• Look at the float position within the wear range, since copies near the top of a grade look noticeably cleaner on the magazine and stock.
• Inspect the rail ridges, scope and magazine edges, as these parts lose paint first.
• Check whether the copy is Souvenir, because its pre-applied stickers change the overall look.
• Check for applied stickers or a name tag that you may not want on a plain camo rifle.
