Skin overview

The coral snake theme of Tec-9 | Snek-9 is carried by a scaled shroud in red, black and yellow bands over a plain grey pistol. At Minimal Wear the finish reads almost the same as a fresh copy, with only faint marks that show up on close inspection. It gives nearly the full look of the cleanest grade for a buyer who does not need a flawless finish.

Item type: pistol. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The barrel shroud carries the main artwork: a dense snake-scale texture in bands of red, black and yellow, wrapped around the perforated tube up to the muzzle. The pattern continues over the upper receiver and bolt area, while the lower receiver, trigger guard and grip are left in plain grey.

Light specks may appear around the shroud openings and at the muzzle tip. The colour bands and scale texture are otherwise intact. The magazine drawing and the receiver area stay clean. At normal viewing distance it is hard to tell apart from Factory New.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The float of Souvenir Tec-9 | Snek-9 ranges from 0 to 1; the Minimal Wear quality covers 0.07–0.15 — 8% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Red, yellow and black stickers match the coral snake bands, while gold or holo yellow pieces echo the bright scales. The plain grey receiver and magazine leave room for stickers without covering the artwork on the shroud.

• Check the float position within the wear range, since copies at the cleaner end of a grade look noticeably better on the shroud.
• Look at the shroud holes and muzzle end in the inspect view, as these are the first places to lose paint.
