★ Bowie Knife | Blue Steel is a large sawback survival knife with a cold-blued patina across the blade, guard and pommel, paired with a dark textured grip. In Factory New the bluing reads as a smooth, deep surface with a clear lighter band along the cutting edge. This is the grade for buyers who want the finish exactly as intended, with no scratches breaking up the metal.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
Appearance in Factory New
The blade is covered in a dark steel-blue patina, with a lighter silver-blue bevel running along the cutting edge up to the clipped tip. The sawback teeth on the spine carry the same blued finish and stand out as a row of small raised points. The crossguard and the pommel cap are blued as well, giving the fittings a dark metallic sheen that matches the blade. The grip stays a dark olive-charcoal with a fine texture and visible screws, so the colour contrast comes from the metal parts only. On worn copies the bluing thins first on the edge, the tip, the spine teeth and the edges of the guard and pommel, where lighter bare steel begins to show.
The patina is intact across the whole blade, with no scratches on the edge, tip or spine teeth. The guard and pommel keep an even blued sheen. In game the knife looks crisp, and the light edge bevel contrasts cleanly with the dark flat of the blade. Everything visible on the model is clean.

What to look at before you buy
- Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since the bluing on the tip and spine teeth changes noticeably across the range.
- Compare the pattern on inspect, because the patina can lean more blue or more grey from copy to copy.
- Look at the edges of the guard and pommel, as these raised parts lose their bluing early.
- If you want a tracker, confirm whether the copy is StatTrak™ and whether it carries a name tag.
Who the Factory New quality suits
- Collectors who want the blued finish completely intact.
- Players who prefer a clean, dark knife with a sharp edge contrast.
- The choice for those who accept paying for a flawless surface.
